COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY
About
ABOUT ME
I am a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered counsellor and psychotherapist based in York. I work with an integrative humanistic approach, using a variety of methods, depending on the needs of my clients because I see you as the expert on you.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, having worked with a range of clients in York through a local hospice and a local women's charity. Experience teaches me to value authenticity - I will always be real with you.
I find joy in connecting with clients and learning new skills and ideas so that I can offer more as a counsellor. Each client shares a unique journey with me, and I look forward to helping you navigate yours.

Kathryn and I worked together for about a year. We wove together so many threads of my life (trauma, fertility, relationships).
Kathryn was an expert co-pilot in navigating a journey that helped me make sense of their connected and separate parts, and to get to a place where I can now give myself the grace I need to live a happier life.
The Garden Room was always a calm, private and relaxing environment, and on the odd occasion I wanted to flex to a Zoom appointment, it was easily done.

I took full advantage of the free consultation call and Kathryn immediately set herself apart from other counsellors I was meeting, through her deep listening and sensitive questions even in just 20 mins of talking together.

Kathryn offers just the right balance of friendliness and professionalism for what I needed – I felt relaxed enough to almost feel I was speaking to a friend, but knowing I was in a heavily boundaried, very safe space that Kathryn was guarding through her expertise and judgement.

Good luck to anyone reading this and thinking of embarking on your own therapy journey –you are in safe hands here."
